Tributes Planned for Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones

By now, everyone whose life was touched by her is mourning the loss of Ohio Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones, who passed away on August 20, 2008. She was a powerful figure in local Cuyahoga County politics and a formidable Judge, attorney, advocate, and woman. Before joining Congress, Congresswoman Jones worked as a Cuyahoga County Prosecutor and served as a Judge on both the Cleveland Municipal Court and the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. A little-known fact is that Congresswoman Jones also worked at the Cleveland Law Library Association for a short time around the time she was in law school. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on August 30th at the Cleveland Public Auditorium, and donations for a scholarship fund are being accepted by the Cleveland Foundation.
