At its April 14, 2009 meeting, the Cleveland City Council voted to enact new section 433.09 (Ordinance 105-09) to ban texting on cell phones while driving in the City. The Council also passed Resolution No. 110-09 urging Ohio's Governor and General Assembly to research other states' laws on cell phone usage and texting while driving.
