New Free Court Site for N.D. Ohio Opinions

The U.S. federal courts system has launched a brand new website called CourtWEB that provides free access to district court opinions from judges who elect to participate and make their decisions available. According to a press release from the N.D. Ohio, all opinions written by N.D. Ohio judges since January 2006 are now freely avaialable on the web site. PACER is still avaialble for other filings in cases, as well as full dockets and documents in older matters.

I just came across the ABA's notice linking to its list of the top 100 blogs for lawyers. All of the blogs on the list are categorized by topic and include links to twitter where applicable.

The Ohio Supreme Court has created and published a brand new online pamphlet for pro se litigants who are preparing appeals to the Supreme Court from one of Ohio's Courts of Appeal. 

LegalZoom Accused of Unauthorized Practice of Law

Consumer may love LegalZoom, but it is facing a class action alleging that its process of creating wills, POA's, pleadings in domestic relations cases, and other documents constitutes the unauthorized practice of law. Ohio Supreme Court Translates Common Forms into 5 Languages

The Ohio Supreme Court has translated 27 common forms used in general, domestic relations, juvenile and probate court cases into Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Russian, and Somali. A few of the key forms include those related to domestic violence and stalking. Click here to find the translated forms.
