Starting today, Ohio Governor Kasich's office is accepting applications from attorneys who would like to be appointed to finish out Ohio Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Stratton's term. Justice Stratton will retire at the end of this year, and her replacement will serve for 2 years before having to stand for election in 2014. The application process will be open for 5 weeks through Friday, November 16th, after which the Governor, his staff, and 7 legal professionals from across Ohio will evaluate all of the candidates and choose a successor. According to cleveland.com, one of those select 7 includes Case Western Reserve University Law Professor Jonathan Adler.
