A new version of HB 56, the red light camera bill, cleared the Senate Highways and Transportation Committee. The lastest incarnation of the bill still prohibits speeding tickets unless an officer is present. However, the new bill makes an exception for school zones. Also added to the new bill is a provision requiring police to prove who was driving, but the photographs taken by the red light cameras can not be used.
