The federal Ninth District Court of Appeals ruled that the sex discrimination case against Walmart may proceed as a class action. Duke v. Wal-Mart Stores (Feb. 6, 2007), Ninth District Court of Appeals Case No. 04-16688, 04-16720. The case is the nation's largest sex discrimination case, involving a plaintiff class of two million. The suit alleges that women were paid less and denied promotions because of their sex.
