The Ohio Supreme Court will soon be sending all "active" Ohio attorneys a request for a report on 2008 pro bono contributions and service. According to the Court's Press Release from November 20, 2008, this program, called Justice in Action, will send out voluntary email surveys that will allow attorneys to anonymously report their hours and contributions. The Court plans to use the data to capture how much work is being done and identify where gaps in pro bono service exist. Last year, the Ohio Supreme Court encouraged attorneys to provide pro bono service when it issued a "Statement Regarding the Provision of Pro Bono Legal Services by Ohio Lawyers."
