Did you know that PACER-the federal court's docket system, has been around since 1988? It just celebrated its 25th birthday.The press release provides a little of PACER's history:
"Initially, PACER only provided access to case dockets and summary information about each case. That changed in the late 1990s, when the Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system, which allows attorneys to file case documents over the Internet, was implemented."
